This is my favorite bar ever since the first time I visited New York. Now as a local, I go every other week. The people and vibe varies but I always love this place anyway. Very fun atmosphere and mixed age place. I usually stay clear of the kids at Haswells.

Looking for an open restaurant at 4:00pm after a matinee around 54th street is not easy, but we found this unique place enjoying Happy Hour with vodka tastings and typical food. A very fun experience, and good value.

My hotel in the city was 3 blocks away. I googled happy hours and the RVR was tops on the list. The 4 till 7pm special I chose was 2 shots of infused vodka for only $5.00. Wow, good stuff. I had a red grapefruit first, then a peach/apricot. All employees are definitely Russian. The place has great ambiance! The outside of the building is being remodeled, so it looks inconspicuous, but look for the logo on the door, 265 w 52nd, you’ll be glad you did!

Was looking for a place that is more interesting than the hotel bar to have a drink. And this was it! A web search for the best martinis revealed the Russian Vodka Room. Just 4 blocks away – so convenient that we had to go. It’s away from the bright lights and glitz of Times Square – perfect! We weren’t sure on the first glance from the outside, but, once we stepped in – a real treat awaited. A great selection of vodkas, including a large number of house made infused vodkas. More on that later. As for drinks – try the Filthy Russian Martini – so wonderfully smooth and delicious, with gorgonzola stuffed olives. The dark Russian beer was malty and smooth. The Russian dumplings (potato) with sautéed onions and sour cream were heavenly! Bartender was very friendly and helpful with our questions. A woman was playing piano and singing – made for great ambience. She had an incredible voice. To top off the evening – shots of raspberry infused vodka were just delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back next time we are in Times Square. Reasonably priced. Recommended.
